Republic will next month deploy 150 troops to help the Multinational
Joint Task Force (MNJTF) against Boko Haram insurgents and other terror
acts.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director Army Public Relations, DDAPR, Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF, Colonel Mohammed Dole yesterday. He said Cameroon, Chad and Niger Republic have already sent their troops since late 2015 to join the Nigerian forces at Ndjamena.
Benin’s Minister of Defence, Yarou Robert Theophile, according to the
statement, said that the initial delay in the deployment of the troops
was due to some logistics and equipment challenges, which were recently

“The first batch of 150 military personnel will be deployed in Ndjamena, HQ MNJTF before the end of April 2016, he added. While the remaining batches will be airlifted subsequently to meet up with 750 troops expected from Benin Republic.
