Promotion of cultural heritage in Nigeria was given a facelift when
Face of Nigeria Angelz Beauty Pageant 2015 edition took a centre stage
at Citilodge Hotel, Lekki, Lagos with Miss Blessing Eze Gold crowned the
winner.
In a highly contested pageant, 14 beautiful angels drawn from thorough auditions across Nigeria contested for the star prize.
Panel of judges comprising former Miss University 2012, Queen
Winifred, Ozoya Salami CEO Angelseyez, Ikhide Elens Ehigbokan CEO,
Midigraphs, Ayo Alasi, and Sandra Ikeji of Black dove Modeling were in
for a big task as the contestants exhibited dexterity in cultural
performances and catwalks, confidence in IQ to their amazement.
The contestants also thrilled the audience with various acts in parade of native attire, poetry and dance.
After what seems a hot contest, six contestants were selected for
final showdown and at the end, Miss Blessing Eze Gold representing Edo
State emerged the winner. It was a double honour for her as she was
crowned the new ‘Face of Nigeria Angels’ Queen 2015 by the past Queen,
Nollywood actress, Mimi Orjiekwe for the one year running and Miss
Heritage Nigeria 2015. She carted away 1 million naira cash prize and a
car.
In addition, she will be representing Nigeria in the upcoming Miss
Heritage International 2015 to be held in India in October. Other
winners are Miss Tammy Andoya representing Miss Cross River as the first
runner up and Miss Oluwafunmibi Ajaja representing Miss Lagos State as
second runner up respectively. Both gets a free holiday return ticket to
any African country of choice.
The past Queen Mimi Orjiekwe when cornered said, “It is not easy to
win a beauty pageant. So many girls want to be part of it but the very
best always emerge. I am proud to be the first winner of the Face of
Nigeria Angels pageant, 2015, and it has given me energy to move into
places I have not been before.
It has also created opportunities and open gates for me to engage in
many things like putting up my pet project to help people and to give
back to humanity. This is what I expected the reigning Queen to engage
in, to advance her potentials in the society.”
Earlier in his remarks, Ozoya Salami, the founder and CEO of
Angeleyez, organizers of the event said “This is in adherence to the
agency’s mandate of building reputable personalities and raising
entrepreneurs in this modern society.
Through ‘Face of Nigeria Angels Pageant, we don’t just intend to
showcase beauty and grace but also to build the ideal model that
represents what a African feminine cultural identity of this generation
is supposed to be. This is our own way of promoting culture in Nigeria.”
Music performances by Dance hall sensation Pansha, hip-hop artist
Steve O, Matt Doice, Tunexbeat and Ese Peters added colour to the
event. Dignitaries at the event were representatives from Edysmat Nig
Ltd, makers Dallas Cosmetics and co-sponsors of the event,
representatives of ASKY Airline and others. The event was compered by
